Welcome To Greater Central Connecticut Bowling Association
Welcome to the Greater Central Connecticut USBC Hall of Fame Gallery.
On this page, you will find photos of all past and present Hall of Fame members from the old CCBA (Central Connecticut Bowling Association), GHWBA (Greater Hartford Women’s Bowling Association) and the now merged GCC who are entered into the local Hall of Fame for either Bowling Ability, Superior Performance, Meritorious Service, Combined (both bowling ability and meritorious service) or as a Friend of Bowling for various contributions to the sport. You will see the category and year they were inducted as well as other additional Bowling Halls of Fame of which they are members. The following acronyms are listed below.
CSBA - The Former Connecticut State Bowling Association Hall of Fame
CWBA - The Former Connecticut Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame
CSUSBC - The Connecticut State USBC Hall of Fame
ABC - The Former American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame
PBA - The Professional Bowling Association Hall of Fame
As you can see from all the groups they are members of, the Central Connecticut area bowlers have been talented members for a long time on the local, state and national levels! It is a prestigious honor to be recognized by your peers as an elite member of any group. Hall of Fame members have been singled out for their exceptional contributions to the sport of bowling through outstanding service, dedicated support or extraordinary talent. GCC salutes their varied accomplishments and abilities!
GCC would like to thank Communications Chairperson, Marsha Gilbert, for the arduous task of compiling and putting this project together to include on our website. It involved many hours of taking or gathering photographs, identifying people and putting it all on the computer for you to enjoy. GCC also would like to thank the following people who helped Marsha support and complete this project. They include: Tom Gilbert, Pam Sisson, Sonya Macierowski West, Marc Banks, Tom Murphy, Pat Lupacchino, Dan Esakov, Bernie Oppelt, Larry Dube, Thomas Jenkins, Mike Lichstein, Lucille Bartee, Marie Fuller, Elizabeth Person, Bob Desilet, Annie Gallant, Bill Broughton, Mary Whipple, Val Santhouse, the CT State USBC, the March/April 1993 issue of the Bowling Digest magazine, and former GCC Association Manager, Paul DiMauro. Without their interest and assistance, the project could not have been completed. We will add to this section as other Hall of Fame members are inducted in the future. GCC hopes you enjoy this website feature and encourages hearing any input (comments and/or suggestions) you may have. Hopefully, if you are interested in items like this, we can expand our website to include other interesting features.
